Lina Pratt
(yoga, massage therapy) I am fascinated with the mind-body-spirit connection and have a great appreciation for the uniqueness that is expressed with each of us as we live in our bodies. My intention is to live more fully and peacefully in my body and I enjoy helping others to do the same.
I have been a licensed massage therapist in NC since 2002, taking my training at the Body Therapy Institute in Siler City. I have long felt a deep connection with yoga that goes beyond words. In May of 2011, I completed my yoga teacher training with Ti Harmony. I have found that deepening my yoga practice as I move in the last third of my life is a perfect way to embrace this time with beauty and grace.
I look forward to meeting you and what we can learn from each other.

These individually tailored lessons are an invitation for you to learn to take better care of yourself and to mobilize your inner resources for coping, growing and healing. Rosemary will guide you to learn, practice and integrate mindfulness into your everyday life by providing a supportive and deeply engaging and experiential learning environment. In guided lessons, learn and practice a variety of mindfulness meditation practices and principles aimed at cultivating clarity, insight and understanding. Learning to develop wise attention to what you are experiencing increases your self-awareness and lowers stress levels. Rosemary will offer suggestions for home explorations that will support your ongoing mindfulness practice.
“By being with yourself, by watching yourself in your daily life with alert interest, with the intention to understand rather than to judge, in full acceptance of whatever may emerge, because it is there, you encourage the deep to come to the surface and enrich your life and consciousness with it’ s captive energies. This is the great work of awareness; it removes obstacles and releases energies by understanding the nature of life and mind. Intelligence is the door to freedom and alert attention is the mother of intelligence."
"Mindfulness is about being fully awake in our lives. It is about perceiving the exquisite vividness of each moment. We feel more alive. We also gain immediate access to our own powerful inner resources for insight, transformation, and healing."

Mind Body Skills
to Groups/Individuals
and Therapeutic Lifestyle Coaching

Vera Lucia Moura, MD
Phone # (919) 320-8285
Email address: vlsmoura2012@gmail.com
Mind Body Skills Groups are specific group-based interventions adapted from a model program developed at the Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, DC; the founding director is Dr. James Gordon. In this model, have the opportunity to learn, practice and then use mind-body techniques to expand their self-awareness, reduce anxiety, and promote personal growth. The techniques include: breath work meditation, biofeedback, autogenic training, movement, guided imagery, journal writing and drawing. Group participants will also learn how an intimate relationship with the elements of nature can bring harmony and more meaning into life.
The mind-body techniques are offered within a small group context. The group sessions occur once a week for two hours over a ten week period. The group meetings involve small group dialogue sessions focused on experiential practice, self reflection, and active listening. In each session, participants are introduced to new mind-body practices along with the theory and research behind the practice. This unique intervention affords participants the opportunity to experience and choose a home-based, mind-body practice that they can use to manage stress and enhance feelings of well-being. The emphasis is on finding techniques that are best suited for individual needs and lifestyles.
The mind-body skills group intervention program has been used successfully with diverse client and student populations. People who participated in mind body spirit skills groups have experienced a decrease in depression, anxiety, and physical symptoms of illnesses; they have also learned better coping skills, enhanced the functioning of their immune system, and achieved greater self-awareness and positive outlook.
Mind Body Skills Individual Sessions: One-on-one mind-body skills instruction will be offered to people who wish to learn and experience mind-body skills techniques. This will allow individualized time and attention for those who wish to intensify their focus on practicing one specific mind-body technique or who are more comfortable working in a one to one format. Typically, an individual will meet with the mind-body instructor for one hour sessions, over ten weeks.

The Guest House by Jelaluddin Rumi
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival .
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably,
She may be cleaning you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.
