At Hillsborough Yoga & Healing Arts, our belief is there is a class for everyone. We offer a broad range of classes throughout the week. You can view individual class descriptions with our online registration & scheduling tool.
Class Levels
Most of our classes are Mixed Levels and suitable for any stage of Yoga Practice. Some classes are offered at a level related to your own yoga practice or your needs for an individual class on a particular day. Remember that from the Instructor Bio page you can email the Instructor to get talk about the class before coming. You may also call or email the Studio for more information
Level I
These classes are designed for those who are new to yoga or are coming back after a hiatus. Designed to safely guide you through the basic principles of the yoga poses as you incorporate the breath, these classes provide a great foundation for moving on to more advanced classes.
Level II
Level II classes take you to a into a deeper practice experience. Although fundamentals are still incorporated, less basic instruction is provided. Some knowledge of the basic poses is recommended.
In Level I-II Combination classes, instruction is given with options for each level of practice.
Level III
An assured foundation is recommended for those who choose to attend this level III class. You will be guided in a deeper level of practice. Not recommended for beginners or for those recovering from injury.

Yoga Class Tips
- Mats and all other props are available but we do encourage you to bring your own mat.
- An empty stomach is recommended. Try eating at least 1-2 hours before coming to class.
- Hillsborough Yoga is a fragrance free Center. Please avoid wearing perfumes or other scented body products.
- When possible, it is best to arrive 15 minutes early to check in and get settled into your space.
- Let your teacher know about injuries or conditions that may affect your practice (pregnancy included please).
- When you arrive, check in at the desk, take off your shoes, turn off your cell phone, and enjoy!
What is Yoga?
Classical yoga is a philosophical system that has its roots in ancient India from as far back as 5,000 years. It is a system of living designed to promote health, peace of mind and deeper awareness of ourselves. The actual word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word meaning to “yoke” or to unite. Yoga has been represented through time as an eight limbed path of practice. The 8 paths include Ethical Precepts, Poses or Postures (Asanas), Breath Control, Concentration, Meditation and Oneness.
The practice of Asana (Poses or Postures) is the most popular and easily recognized type of Yoga in the Western culture. This practice is often referred to as Hatha Yoga in which physical health and balance is the primary goal. Through practice with the poses and breath control, one can develop an overall improvement in health and well being.
Fees
At Hillsborough Yoga and Healing Arts there are several ways that classes may be purchased. Most of our classes are “Drop In” which means you can come to one class without pre-registering. See our Class Price list below.

Passcards
You may purchase a passcard which gives you a discount on the drop in rate. Passcards can be used for all “Drop In” classes.
Series Classes
Series classes run for a specified length of time with a start and end date. Pre-registration is usually required. Series classes are priced based on the type and length of the series and payment is made in full prior to the beginning of the series. There are no refunds after the first class, no pro-rating and no sharing of series purchases. Series classes may be cancelled due to lack of interest or may be closed out due to maximum capacity. Therfore, pre-registration is recommended.

Workshops
Workshops are special events that may be offered on a one time basis or routinely. Generally these “mini-workshops” last for two hours and are held sometime throughout the weekend. Workshops are priced based on the type and length of the workshop. Go to the workshop page for more information. Pre-registration prices are less that when you sign up for the workshop on the day of. Workshops may be cancelled due to lack of interest or may be closed out due to maximum capacity. Therefore, pre-registration is recommended.
